real estate investors homes visibility publicity

We all know that real estate is all about relationships. I mean, there's literally something called the SOI aka "Sphere of Influence" for a reason.

Btw—we're Bridget and Lydia, co-founders of Visibility on Purpose. Our company helps train brands and teams on how to land top tier media features that generate new customers/interest and help their brand be known.

We love working with real estate investors and experts because they totally understand that to get more visible is all about building genuine connections with the right people.

In this blog, we go over our top 5 tips for Real Estate Agents to increase their visibility.

  1. Social Media Presence—Obviously with everything digital these days, agents need to have a strong social media presence. Think about your target seller/buyer and think through their buying decisions and values. Create location based contact that will speak to the people in your area that might want to buy or sell one day. Don't wait for media outlets to come to you. Take charge by creating your own engaging content that showcases your knowledge and value proposition. This can include blog posts, infographics, videos, or even social media posts discussing the nuances of the local market, offering negotiation tips, or highlighting success stories of your past clients.
  2. Become a Source of Knowledge—Journalists are always looking for credible sources to inform their audiences. Position yourself as an expert by offering insightful commentary on local market trends (for example, if you serve the greater Tristate area, you would be a great fit for some TV appearances in this area about market trends), providing tips for buyers and sellers in your area, or sharing your predictions for the future of the market. Reach out to local publications, radio stations, or even podcasts, and offer your expertise as a guest speaker.
  3. Target the Right Audience—While it's tempting to blast your message everywhere, focus on tailoring your content and media outreach to your ideal client demographic. Research the publications, websites, or shows your target audience frequents, and tailor your content and outreach accordingly. This shows a deeper understanding of your niche and positions you as an agent who truly understands their specific needs.
  4. Build Relationships with Journalists—Developing genuine connections with journalists can open doors to future opportunities. Network with local media professionals, attend industry events, and offer them valuable insights, even if there's no immediate story opportunity. By building relationships, you become a trusted source they'll consider for future stories.
  5. Leverage Social Channels For Relationship Building—Don't wait for media outlets to come to you. Take charge by creating your own engaging content that showcases your knowledge and value proposition. This can include blog posts, infographics, videos, or even social media posts discussing the nuances of the local market, offering negotiation tips, or highlighting success stories of your past clients.
